CBL debates to focus on kids and the Constitution

The Conservative Business League is sponsoring a series of three debates on the Constitution across the State of Arizona during the months of May and June. The debates are non partisan, open to the public, and free of charge.

The group hopes to reach out to middle school, high school and college students educate them about the Constitution and our Country, according to organizers.

The first debate will be held at Poston Butte High School Library, 32375 N. Gantzel Rd, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143, on Tuesday, May 6th. Doors open at 6:00 pm and “Round One” of the “Great Debate” is scheduled from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The second debate will be held on Tuesday, May 13 in Casa Grande.

The four debate topics (20-Minutes each) of this first debate will be:
1. Religion and the First Amendment
2. The Constitution as a “living, breathing document”.
3. The General Welfare Clause
4. The Second Amendment

Each debate will emphasize different sections of the Constitution)

The debate participants will be:
1. Mr. Mikel Weisser, Candidate for Congress
2. Mr. Shane Krauser, Constitutional Scholar, with the American Academy For Constitutional Education.

The moderated debates will employ the “Lincoln-Douglas Debate” format with strict adherence to time rules.

No political materials, signature gathering or campaigning will be allowed due to debate decorum and venue rules.
