Raytheon Company has received a $235.5 million contract for Radar Digital Processor (RDP) kits to upgrade the combat-proven Patriot Air and Missile Defense System for the US and two partner nations.
“These RDP upgrades are yet another example of how we continue to advance Patriot technology to stay ahead of evolving threats,” said Ralph Acaba, vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense at Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems business. “All of our 12 Patriot partners participate in prioritizing these enhancements and funding them through the Patriot International Engineering Services Program.”
Work under this contract will be performed at Raytheon’s Integrated Air Defense Center, Andover, Mass., supported by a global team of Patriot system suppliers.
Raytheon ane Kongsberg Gruppen have formed a teaming agreement to provide new solutions for the Offensive Anti-Surface Warfare (OASuW) mission. As a centerpiece of the agreement, the companies will develop the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for air-launched OASuW applications.
The Joint Strike Missile is already funded for development for the Royal Norwegian Air Force at a time when the United States Navy is considering cost-effective solutions for next-generation OASuW weapons systems.
“The U.S. and its allies gain new and innovative options in the OASuW arena through this agreement,” said Dr. Taylor W. Lawrence, Raytheon Missile Systems president. “Raytheon’s global development capability allows us to identify and offer the advanced and affordable solutions our customers require for the complex missions of the future.”
