Tucson man arrested for sharing child pornography

jonathan-pattonIn April of 2014, the Tucson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit developed information that a  person in the Tucson area was downloading and sharing child pornography on the internet. The investigation led  detectives to a residence in the 600 block of North Loquat Avenue. On July 23, 2014, a search warrant was served at the  residence with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.

During the service of the search warrant, detective’s located evidence that implicated 39 year-old Jonathan Patton, as the suspect involved in the downloading and sharing of child pornography. Mr. Patton was located and booked into the Pima County Jail on 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

The Tucson Police Department is reminding people to ensure their internet routers for their Wifi connections are secure. Unsecure wireless connections can be used by neighbors or people in close proximity to your router. Parents should continually monitor all of their children’s Social Media Accounts to include Facebook, Twitter,  Instagram, Snapchat, or any others they may utilize.
