Loop 101 restricted in Scottsdale area for widening project; I-10 West narrowed

adotImprovement work will require closures or lane restrictions along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Aug. 8-11), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Crews are launching a major project to widen 11 miles of Loop 101 in the Scottsdale area.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:
Northbound Loop 101 closed overnight between 90th Street and Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 9) for freeway-widening project.
DETOUR: Northbound Loop 101 traffic can detour along northbound 90th Street and westbound Shea Boulevard to travel beyond closure.

Loop 101 narrowed to two lanes in both directions between Shea Boulevard and Via De Ventura from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 11) for freeway-widening project.
DETOUR: Allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zones.
NOTE: Northbound Loop 101 closed between 90th Street and Shea Boulevard on Friday night.

Southbound Loop 101 closed between 75th Avenue and Bell Road in Glendale from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday (Aug. 9) for traffic-flow equipment installation. Westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 67th and 75th avenues and southbound on-ramp at Union Hills Drive also closed starting at 9 p.m. Friday.
DETOUR: Westbound/Southbound Loop 101 traffic can detour along 75th or 83rd avenues and use Bell Road to re-enter southbound Loop 101.
NOTE: Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 51st Avenue and southbound on-ramp at Indian School Road in Glendale closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday (Aug. 10) for equipment installation. Use adjacent on-ramps.

Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane overnight between Queen Creek Road and Wild Horse Pass Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 9) and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 10) for new merge lane project.
DETOUR: Allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone.

Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes overnight between Jackrabbit Trail and Citrus Road in the West Valley from 8 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday (Aug. 11) for overhead sign structure work.
DETOUR: Allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone.

Grand Avenue (US 60) narrowed to one lane at times overnight in areas between McDowell Road and 71st Avenue from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 9) for final lane striping on new pavement.
DETOUR: Allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes during overnight restrictions.
