Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad (BNSF) owns all of the rail lines in the US that connect to Western Canada, and they haul 80% of the crude from Canada to the U.S. refineries that would benefit from the pipeline. BNSF charges $30.00 per barrel and a fee to others for rail use. The State Department estimates the pipeline would only cost $10.00 per barrel.
The sweet old man from Omaha owns the Buffet. In the last two election cycles, Buffet contributed extensively to the Democratic causes and candidates. Buffet also hosted and “bundled” numerous fundraisers for the current president.
Buffett could lose $2 billion plus a year if the pipeline is constructed. Anyone who doesn’t think the pipeline isn’t being delayed for the sweet little old man needs to seek help.
