Joshua Gradillas, age 27, the victim in the head-on ATV collision on July 13, 2014, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on August 24, 2014.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they learned that the driver of the ATV, Gradillas, collided head-on with the Polaris which had four occupants. Gradillas was thrown from his vehicle and one of the occupants of the Polaris was also thrown from the vehicle. The other remaining occupants on the Polaris drove away from the scene.
Gradillas was transported to the trauma center. He was not wearing a helmet. The injured occupant of the Polaris was transported to the trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol was found to be a factor in the collision.
