The Pima Community College volleyball team (3-2, 1-0 in ACCAC conference) opened ACCAC conference play in a dramatic fashion on Wednesday in Thatcher against Eastern Arizona College.
The Aztecs fought from behind twice in the match to tie it and overcame Eastern Arizona in the final set to win 18-25 27-25, 13-25, 25-23, 15-12.
“It was a great team effort tonight. We had to make constant adjustments and everyone made great contributions,” Pima volleyball coach Dan Bithell said. “We executed well in the end and came away with a big win.”
The Aztecs will host its home opener on Friday against South Mountain Community College at the West Campus gym. The match will start at 7:00 p.m.
Kaysee Pilgrim earned All-Tournament honors at the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) Classic last week in Roswell, NM. The Aztecs went 2-2 for the tournament.
