Freeway-improvement projects will require closures, lane restrictions in Phoenix area

adotFreeway-improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions in the Phoenix area this weekend (Nov. 14-17), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes while the following scheduled weekend restrictions are in place:

  • Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes in both directions at Ray Road from 9 p.m. Friday to noon Sunday (Nov. 16) for sign foundation work. I-10 then narrowed to three lanes in both directions at Ray Rd. from noon Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 17). DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time, consider alternate routes and be prepared to slow down and merge safely approaching the work zone.
  • Eastbound I-10 narrowed to one lane, mostly during overnight hours, between Wild Horse Pass Boulevard and Queen Creek Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 15), from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 16) and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 17) for sign installation and widening work. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider adjusting travel schedule if possible.
  • Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Val Vista Drive and Gilbert Road in Mesa from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 15) for freeway-widening project. DETOUR: Alternate routes include westbound US 60. Westbound Loop 202 traffic exiting at Val Vista Drive will be detoured to McKellips Road.
  • Southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) ramps to eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in Chandler closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (Nov. 14-17) for bridge maintenance. DETOUR: Consider using eastbound Chandler Boulevard to southbound Dobson Road to access eastbound Loop 202.
  • Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Estrella Parkway and Citrus Road in Goodyear from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 15) for lane striping. Westbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 303 and southbound Loop 303 ramp to westbound I-10 closed. Westbound I-10 off-ramp at Estrella Parkway closed. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and use alternate routes while ramps are closed.
  • Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane near Watson and Miller roads in Buckeye from 11 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 15) for bridge work. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and use caution in work zones. Alternate routes include southbound Verrado Way to westbound Broadway Road and northbound SR 85.
  • Pima Road/90th Street closed in both directions at Loop 101 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Nov. 17) for bridge work. Loop 101 ramps at 90th Street will remain open with only right turns allowed. DETOUR: Consider using Shea Boulevard or Via De Ventura to access Loop 101.
