Willcox receives over $7.1 million to build new wastewater treatment facility

The city of Willcox has received more than $7.1 million in federal funds to build a new wastewater treatment facility.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today awarded two grants and one loan to Willcox which is building a $13.15 million wastewater plant.

•A $2,005,000 USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal loan that will be repaid over 30 years with an annual interest rate of 2.375 percent.

•A $2,066,168 grant from the USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Grant program.

•A $3,080,000 grant from the USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal grant program.

With previously announced funding, the city now has enough money to build the plant. Willcox also has received $6 million in funding from the North American Development Bank.
