Interstate 10 in Tucson installs new highway sign structures

Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 in Tucson will encounter travel restrictions next week while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues a project to install new highway sign structures at numerous locations.

The following restrictions are scheduled for the week of Jan. 5-9, but are subject to change due to inclement weather.

Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Craycroft Avenue and Alvernon Way (mileposts 268-266) in Tucson from 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 6).
Eastbound I-10 on-ramp at 12th Avenue reduced to one lane in Tucson from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 6). Note: The ramp will remain open to traffic during this restriction.
Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Alvernon Way and Palo Verde Road (mileposts 266-264.5) in Tucson from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 7).
Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Kino Parkway/Campbell Avenue and Park Avenue (mileposts 263-262) in Tucson from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 8). Westbound I-10 off-ramp at Ajo Way/Kino Parkway (Exit 263) closed. Westbound I-10 on-ramps at Ajo Way and Kino Parkway also closed. Detour: Drivers are advised to use Park Avenue to enter westbound I-10.
Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Country Club Road and Ajo Way (mileposts 264-263) in Tucson from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (Jan. 9).
Westbound I-10 narrowed to two lanes between Park Avenue and 6th Avenue (mileposts 262-261) in Tucson from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (Jan. 9).
Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Park Avenue and Interstate 19 (mileposts 262-260) in Tucson from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 10). Note: Westbound I-10 on-ramp at 6th Avenue closed. Detour: Drivers are advised to use Kino Parkway or 22nd Street to enter westbound I-10.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
