On Friday, January. 30, 2015, Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Keegan Humphrey, 22 of San Tan Valley and a man believed to be responsible for three home invasions, resulting in one robbery and two burglaries occurring over the last two nights in San Tan Valley, AZ.

Thursday,January. 29, 2015 at approximately 4:39 am, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2800 block of W. Goldmine Mountain Dr., San Tan Valley, AZ, after receiving a report of a robbery involving the theft of medication. The robbery was believed to have occurred around 2:30 am, when what was described to be a 25 to 30 year old white male, approximately six feet tall, woke one of the residents, threatened to kill him and began asking for the location of guns, medication and wallets within the house. The suspect was believed to have taken only medication before leaving.

Within twenty minutes, Pinal County Sheriff’s Dispatch received two more reports of incidents within the 33000 and 32000 blocks of N. Cherry Creek Rd., in San Tan Valley. One report was that of a burglary (approximately 4:48 am) and the other incident involving a suspicious person (approximately 4:58 am).

The second burglary, though unknown as to the time it occurred (other than between 9:30 pm and 4:48 am), shared the same characteristic as the first. In both home invasions, the front doors of the residences were believed to be unlocked. In addition to various electronic equipment and three wallets reported missing, the homeowner reported that his .45 caliber firearm was missing.

With three incidents, one involving a burglary and another involving robbery, occurring in the same night and same area, Deputies immediately involved Pinal County Sheriff’s Detectives, who began investigating the incidents.

Again on Friday, January. 30, 2015 at approximately 1:38 am, Pinal County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of a burglary-in-progress in the 3000 block of W. Belle Ave., in San Tan Valley. The reporting party informed Dispatch that the suspect was chased by the victim initially. That is until the suspect pulled a gun on him.

A Deputy was able to locate the suspect, who was traveling on foot. The suspect appeared to initially be compliant but then fled on foot. A perimeter was established and a K9 used with a search team. The suspect was again located and taken into custody. Upon search of the suspect, Deputies located a .45 caliber handgun similar to the one reported stolen on Thursday.

Keegan was booked into the Pinal County Sheriff’s Jail on two counts of resisting arrest, one count of aggravated assault, one count of trespassing, three counts of burglary, two counts of robbery, and 14 counts of intimidation to include stalking.

Shortly before noon on Friday, Detectives completed a Search Warrant of the suspect’s home and were able to recover close to all of the stolen property.

Sheriff Babeu stated, “The speed at which this individual was removed from the streets was vital as we knew a weapon was now in the suspect’s possession from the burglary the night before and I commend the work of our Deputies and Detectives. After being caught, the suspect made admissions to Detectives regarding his involvement with these crimes. In Arizona as we begin to again experience comfortable outdoor temperatures, I hope these instances serve as good reminders for all homeowners as to the importance of locking your doors and windows and ensuring your garage doors are closed at night.”
