Salvador Muna, who was wanted by police for a probation violation was shot and killed Wednesday after he pulled a gun on police officers, according to authorities. A man who was with Muna, Joaquin Hernandez, was killed after he was caught t in the crossfire.
According to police, on Tuesday the U.S. Marshal Task Force tried to arrest Muna, but could not locate him. On Wednesday, the task force went to a different location and found him.
Muna fled the scene in a vehicle driven by Hernandez. The pair was stopped by police near the Baseline Road and 48th Street intersection.
Police say that Muna then pulled out a gun, and pointed it at officers. According to authorities, 4 officers opened fire – 2 from Mesa Police, 1 from Tempe and 1 from Chandler.
