On February 11, a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 8991 E Mountain View Rd and handed the teller a note. The note demanded money and stated that the suspect had a gun. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the bank.
Witnesses reported the suspect leaving the area in a black Nissan Altima. Scottsdale patrol officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the area of 85th Pl and Earll Dr. When patrol officers attempted the stop the Nissan, the suspect vehicle fled. A pursuit was initiated as the Nissan tried to get away from officers in the neighborhood. The pursuit was terminated when the Nissan entered the southbound 101 freeway. A police helicopter was called and neighboring police departments were notified of the suspect vehicle.
A short time later, the suspect “ditched” his Nissan Altima in an apartment complex at 1750 S Price Rd in Tempe. The suspect began trying to break into several apartments in that complex. Responding Tempe and Scottsdale Police units were able to set a perimeter in the area. As the suspect was kicking at a front door to an apartment, he was scared off by the apartment manager at the complex. The suspect jumped the wall into another apartment complex at 1506 S Price Rd and was observed by a police helicopter. The suspect then managed to make entry into another apartment. The suspect was arrested by Tempe and Scottsdale officers as he tried to escape from the apartment out of a back window.
The suspect was later identified as Christopher Ladonta Foster (10/4/84). The stolen money and the suspect vehicle were recovered. No one was injured in this incident. Foster faces numerous charges including Christopher Ladonta Foster Felony Flight from a Law Enforcement Officer, and Burglary.
