On February 16, 2015, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Pima County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 3477 S. Waterfall Drive, reference a theft. When deputies arrived, they learned fraudulent activity was discovered by bank staff while reviewing a 79-year-old customer’s account.
The perpetrator of the fraud was identified as Francisco Gamez-Hernandez, a Wells Fargo Bank employee. Detectives discovered during the course of their investigation they learned the suspect sought out the victim because of her age and vulnerability.
Gamez-Hernandez was transported to the Pima County Adult Detention Complex and booked on the following charges:
• Theft
• Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
• Computer Tampering
Wells Fargo Bank reimbursed the victim’s account.
