Coronado School bus driver arrested for aggravated assault, goes on rampage

bus-driverOn Monday March 2, 2015 the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office interviewed students who were on a Coronado School bus on February 24 when a bus driver, 50 year old Colleen Weinstein, pushed a student down the aisle on the bus.

Weinstein went on what was described as a verbal rampage. She began shouting at the students and then stopped the bus getting into a verbal altercation with some of the passengers.

Weinstein then reportedly pushed a male student down towards the seat causing him to fall and hit his head on the window, and pushed another student back towards a seat.

She then reportedly followed students in the bus after they had gotten off of the bus.

The Sheriff’s Office investigators have interviewed 20 students and after attempting to interview Weinstein, she was arrested and booked into the Cochise County jail on the following charges:

20 counts of Disorderly Conduct (language/actions towards students)
20 counts on Endangerment (keeping students on the bus and leaving the bus unattended)
2 counts of Threats and Intimidation (following students in the bus after they had gotten off of the bus)
3 counts of Aggravated Assault (touching the students in an aggressive manner)

The investigation is being continued by the Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with a child who was on this bus (route 2, bus #26) in the afternoon and who has not been contacted by the Sheriff’s Office is asked to call 432-9500 so an interview an be conducted.
