Arizona DPS seizes 4,610 pounds of marijuana, some cash, meth and cocaine

DPSinterventionSince March 4th DPS has made 10 significant highway interdiction seizures resulting in the seizure of 4,610 pounds of marijuana, 24.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 9.5 pounds of cocaine, and $80,683 US currency. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) recovered approximately 4,300 pounds of marijuana after the driver was stopped for a traffic violation. The marijuana has a street value of approximately $2.1 million dollars. These seizures over the last 8 days demonstrate the benefits of interdiction on Arizona’s highways.

DPS will continue these interdiction efforts in pursuit of its mission to protect human life and property by enforcing state laws and deterring criminal activity.
