On March 23, 2015 at approximately 8:30 am, Marana Police Officers responded to a neighborhood located near Cortaro and I-10 reference an unknown problem call. Officers placed 23 year-old Cody William Clark under arrest for criminal damage.
At approximately 9:00 am, a vehicle was located in the desert area near Joplin Lane and Cortaro Farms. The body of 22 year-old Austin Gann was found inside the vehicle. Gann was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound. Clark, who was already in custody for Criminal Damage, became a person of interest in the homicide. MPD Detectives responded and took over the investigation. As a result of the investigation, MPD Detectives arrested Cody William Clark in connection with this homicide. Clark was transported to the Pima County Detention Center and was booked for 1st Degree Murder.
