On Thursday April 2, 2015 at approximately 5:30 pm, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of four small brush fires off the side of Highway 92 near Valley View School in Palominas.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Palominas Fire Department responded along with officers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety to assess the incident which prompted closure of the Highway and traffic re-routed through Hereford Road.
During the closure, Palominas Fire, Fry Fire, and Sierra Vista Fire Departments were on hand ensuring the that fires did not get out of control and were able to clear the scene shortly after 7:30 pm.
