The Tucson Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred at a location west of the Santa Cruz River on Irvington Road. On April 25, 2015, just after 03:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a man found in the street who had possibly been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Travis Martinez with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Members from the Tucson Fire Department were on scene and transported Mr. Martinez to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Later in ther morning, Mr. Martinez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Next of kin have been notified.
Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911 or 88- CRIME.
