Pima County cyclist injured

On May 3, 2015, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Pima County Sheriff Foothills deputies responded to the 3000 block of West Ina Road reference a collision involving a bicycle and an unknown vehicle.

When deputies arrived, they learned the bicyclist was eastbound in the bike lane when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that left the scene. The 60-year-old bicyclist was transported to the trauma center with non-life threatening injuries. The bicycle had lights but the rider was not wearing a helmet.

The suspect vehicle may have front end damage as a result of the collision. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
