On May 21, 2015, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Pima County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported hit and run collision involving a pedestrian in front of Penske Truck Rental, located at 2730 West Ruthrauff Road.
When deputies arrived, they learned the 57-year-old victim was asleep under a rental truck parked outside of the fenced yard. Someone got in the truck, unaware the man was under it and drove away, running over the victim.
Northwest Fire Department responded and performed lifesaving measures on the victim. Due to his injuries, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit responded and is investigating the incident.
The victim’s name will be released upon notification of next of kin.
