One peregrine falcon chick is safe and Arizona Game and Fish is searching for another in downtown Phoenix. The four week old chicks jumped or fell out of the nest sometime since Sunday.
They can’t fly yet.
The nest is on top of the Maricopa County administration building at 301 W. Jefferson Street. The chick was found by a fire fighter on the 4th floor of the parking garage north of the county building. A mail carrier had a box they could put the bird in until Game and Fish could respond. It wasn’t hurt and was returned to the nest 11 stories up by 1:15 Monday afternoon.
