Three suspects are in custody for a string of burglaries that occurred between June 14th and June 15th, according to Mesa Police.
On June 14th, a burglary was committed in the area of N Stapley and E. Lehi Rd. during which numerous firearms and high end jewelry was taken. On June 15th, one burglary and an attempted burglary were committed in the area of N. Val Vista Dr. and E Brown Rd. during which high end jewelry was taken.
A vehicle description was obtained from a witness of the burglary that occurred on June 15th. A bulletin was sent out to patrol officers regarding the burglaries. Later in the day on June 15th, an officer observed a vehicle parked at a motel in the area of S. Williams and E. Main St. The vehicle matched the description of the vehicle involved in the burglaries. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and stolen property was recovered from inside the vehicle.
Michael Gonzalez, Manuel Rios, and Jose Acevedo were taken into custody on charges related to the burglaries. On June 16th detectives located a fourth subject wanted in connection with the burglary loading items into his vehicle.
A traffic stop was conducted and stolen property was recovered from inside the vehicle.
Scotty Olson was taken into custody on charges related to the burglaries. All four suspects in custody have numerous arrests and contacts with the Mesa Police Department.
