Woman Missing In Chiricahua Mountains

On Friday June 19, 2015 at approximately 9:10 pm, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was told of a 44 year old woman who was missing in the Chiricahua Mountains. The caller said that he and his sister were in Rustler Park when they became separated and he could not locate her.

The man said that he searched for his sister, who is handicapped, for at least two hours before he was forced to drive down the mountain to get a phone signal and call for help.

The woman, 44 year old Janet Castrejon, is 5’3″, 250 pounds, with long black hair that she wears in a braid, last seen wearing a white t-shirt with black lettering, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes with a red stripe.

Search and Rescue personnel responded along with the Department of Corrections dog teams, and they remain in the area searching for Ms. Castrejon.
