Injuries In Single Vehicle Rollover Near Casa Grande

On Thursday evening June 18 at about 10:15 p.m., Pinal County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle crash on Woodruff Road just west of Overfield, north of Casa Grande. A witness reported a subject had run off through the desert and a second person had been ejected from a blue Dodge 1500 pickup.

Upon arrival deputies found the truck laying on the driver’s side approximately 100′ north of the roadway. The driver found on scene was identified as Billy Joe Allen, a 52 year old male, who was transported to Chandler Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. He is still in ICU in critical condition. The passenger was later identified as Timothy Arrington, a 51 year old male, who had numerous warrants. He was never located, but left his wallet at the scene with his ID in it, he was later identified by witnesses as the passenger.

Preliminary investigation found the vehicle had been headed east on Woodruff and failed to negotiate the corner at a high rate of speed. It left the roadway on the north side, over-corrected back into the roadway, then yawed back to the north side, leaving the roadway and overturning at least once, ejecting the driver. Neither occupant was wearing their seat belt. Alcohol may be a factor, but it is not confirmed yet.  Any charges or citations are pending on both the driver and passenger.
