Detectives with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant today and arrested a male high school student at his home for threatening to kill Sheriff Joe Arpaio on June 21 and again on June 23, 2015. The arrest happened in the area of N. 75th Avenue & W. Orangewood Avenue in Glendale, Arizona.
The suspect’s messages were “Well cut your head off you stupid bitch…Toss you in a river and let you drown [sic]”
“Racist ass mother fucker…Perhaps you should get a life and quit being a low life looser and treats your inmates better… And your Racist. Calling people the N word…Really?[sic]’
“…I’ll make sure I know where your at so I can shoot you and blow your head off mother fucker… Better hope I don’t find you,, old wrinkly saggy baggy piece of shit…[sic]”
The suspect, who attends Independence High School, was arrested and is being booked into the juvenile detention center after he admitted to the threats. He said he was angry at Sheriff Arpaio’s treatment of inmates after seeing recent news reports.
The arrest of this suspect continues the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office’s aggressive stance against anyone who threatens public officials and other high profile persons through social media postings and messages. Domestic and
international threats against Sheriff Arpaio have consistently been investigated leading to a number of arrests.
Detective Brian Mackiewicz said, “All threats are taken seriously, but when we have one of that contains such vitriol from a local resident, we have to move quickly – and we did.” Mackiewicz continues “Being the target himself of threats is nothing new to Sheriff Arpaio, but is nevertheless, not something that will ever
be overlooked.”
