Thomas Bolton was sentenced to 14-years in the Arizona Department of Corrections on charges of Sexual Assault and Kidnapping. Bolton was found guilty by a Yavapai County Jury.
Bolton received a 14-year prison term on the Sexual Assault and a 10-year prison term on the Kidnapping, both class 2 felonies. The sentences are to run concurrent to each other. The sentence for Sexual Assault is classified as ‘flat time’ which means Bolton must serve 100 percent of the time with no exceptions.
The convictions are the result of a report to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies received on September 9, 2014 that 49-year-old Thomas Bolton of Wilhoit, Arizona, violated court ordered conditions by harassing his victim (a minor) in front of a Wilhoit business. Bolton was out on bond with specific conditions of release directing that he is to not to have contact with the victim in this case. Charges included Sexual Assault and Sexual Conduct with the minor from a 2013 case. He was scheduled for trial in October of 2014.
Deputies learned that on September 7, 2014, Bolton drove into a business parking lot and blocked the path of a vehicle containing the victim and her friend. Bolton began screaming at the pair and intimidating the victim who was extremely fearful of Bolton’s actions in light of his past behavior and the pending court case. Bolton eventually left after the victim and her friend entered the business to seek help.
The following morning, September 8, 2014, deputies located Bolton at his home and arrested him for charges including Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, Disobey Judicial Order and felony Aggravated Harassment. Bolton has been held with out bond.
