On July 22, 2015, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Tucson Police Department officers responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian, 55-year-old Guadalupe Perez Martinez and a motor vehicle. The collision was on East 22nd Street, just west of South Osborne Avenue.
Tucson Fire assisted on scene and transported Mr. Perez Martinez to Banner University Medical Center. Shortly after arrival, the pedestrian passed away from his injuries.
Traffic Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. They were able to determine that Mr. Perez Martinez was traveling northbound across East 22nd Street, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound in the curb lane. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained on scene.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the collision and the driver did not display any signs of impairment. Detectives are still investigating the collision and are asking anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME.
