The suspect, 21-year-old Fldaa Meraz, was identified by witnesses who stated she and 21-year-old Fabian Borquez-Martinez fled the Los Arcos Mobile Home Park trailer where the shooting occurred. The victim, Eastman, was found inside the trailer and was determined to be deceased at the scene due to an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

After obtaining information from witnesses, officers executed two search warrants in the evening hours following the shooting and made contact with Meraz and Borquez-Martinez in a nearby trailer. Meraz was arrested for first-degree murder and booked into Cochise County Jail where she is currently being held on a $1 million bond. Borquez-Martinez was arrested by a Cochise County adult probation officer for a probation violation.

Eastman was sought for Aggravated Assault after her victim sustained serious injuries.
