McCain Jumps On Salt River Wild Horse Bandwagon

On Thursday, U.S. Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake finally entered into the fray created by the U.S. Forest Service’s announcement that it was planning to round-up the beloved Salt River horses. On Wednesday, State Representative Kelly Townsend secured a postponement of the round-up from officials with the Mesa Ranger District on the Tonto National Forest.

Townsend stated, “The senators’ assistance is very much appreciated. There is plenty of room on the bandwagon, and I hope that all Arizonans join them.”

State Representative Mark Finchem stated, “It is quite a sight to see the senators grabbing hold of this issue like tourists clinging to a trotting dude ranch mare. It warms my heart to see the senators, for whatever reason, getting on board. I hope that we can count on their support for other states’ right issues.”

Townsend is hosting a town hall on Sunday at 4:00 p.m., at the Love of Christ Lutheran Church, located at 1525 N Power Rd, Mesa, Arizona.
