A Sierra Vista man has been arrested after apparently stabbing his next-door neighbor in the chest on Wednesday night.
Jesus Gamez went outside of his residence in the 300 block of Tree Top Avenue at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday when he heard dogs barking and a man yelling. He discovered his neighbor, 24-year-old David Valdez, hiding in the bushes next to the house. Gamez and Valdez got into an argument before Valdez stabbed Gamez in the chest one time.
Gamez was transported to Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista and was later airlifted to the Tucson Medical Center.
Valdez told investigators he was upset and decided to “walk off his anger,” however, it is unclear why he was hiding in the bushes next to the Gamez residence. Valdez was arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault, and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
