The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is requesting information on Jesse Romero and Sophia Gibbs who were found murdered in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 18, 2015 on Salome Highway and 411th Ave in Tonopah.
The bodies of Jesse Romero(18) and Sophia Gibbs (17) were discovered on the side of the Salome Highway early Tuesday morning. MCSO spokesman Deputy Joaquin Enriquez said they had been shot. There is a ranch and a few houses across the street from where the bodies were located.
Sheriff’s detectives have been working feverishly on the double homicide in Tonopah which took place on Tuesday morning. Deputies have identified the bodies found as 18-year-old Jesse Romero of Litchfield Park and a 17-year-old Sophia Gibbs.
Salome Highway was closed between 411th Avenue and 393rd Drive for an extended period.
