Scottsdale Police report that at 3:40 p.m., a male resident knocked on a neighbor’s door in the area of the 7300 block of Valley Vista and told his neighbors that his wife needed medical attention. The male subject then ran back to his home and locked the door behind him.
The neighbor called 911 and heard a loud noise while standing in the subject’s front yard. Scottsdale Police officers responded a short time later and forced entry into the home. The officers found the male subject and his wife deceased in the front room of the home. Both subjects were in their 70’s.
The wife had been shot and the husband had committed suicide.
The investigation is on-going at this time but investigators have learned that the couple was having marital problems. The names of the couple are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
