PCSO Pursuit Ends with 2 In-Custody near Casa Blanca
A pursuit that started at 8 a.m. on Tuesday near SR84 and Anderson Road has ended with the arrest of the driver and passenger. The pursuit was initiated by a PCSO deputy who suspected a possible drunk driver in a Dodge pickup truck. The vehicle fled at speeds up to 70 mph.
After about 15 minutes of the chase in the area north of SR84 and west of I-10, a PCSO Air Unit took over and allowed the deputies to back off.
PCSO was assisted by Gila River PD, DPS Troopers and U.S. Border Patrol. The suspect vehicle drove on and of roads for almost an hour before crashing near Casa Blanca Road and Murphy Road. The 2 occupants were chased on foot for a short time and captured.
During the pursuit, the driver attempted to ram PCSO and DPS cars. The driver hit a Border Patrol vehicle, without injuring to the officer. The vehicle was reported stolen and both occupants had warrants for their arrest.
