Today, U.S. Attorney John S. Leonardo announced that a total of $3,579,416 in grant funds have been awarded to five tribal organizations by the US Department of Justice(“DOJ”) .
The Unified Solutions Tribal Community Development Group received Nearly $2,000,000 in Federal Grant Funds to Support Victims of Crime. The grant funds were awarded by the Office for Victims of Crimes (“OVC”), which is a component of the Department of Justice .
The Colorado River Indian Tribes received nearly $500,000 support juvenile offenders and At-Risk Youth to reduce juvenile offender recidivism. The grant funds were awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (“OJJDP”), which is a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (“OJP”)
The Gila River Indian Community received Over $300,000 in federal grant funds to support juvenile offenders and At-Risk Youth for an alternative program for juvenile offenders and at-risk youth. The grant funds were awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (“OJJDP”), which is a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (“OJP”).
The Hualapai Tribe Received Nearly $600,000 to reduce alcohol/substance abuse crimes have been awarded to the Hualapai Tribe to assist efforts to prevent and reduce alcohol- and substance abuse-related crimes within tribal jurisdiction. The grant funds were awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (“BJA”), which is a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (“OJP”).
Finally, the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe will receive over $200,000 to enhance the tribal justice system. The grant funds were awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (“BJA”), which is a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (“OJP”).
