Troopers Seize 500 Pounds Of Marijuana From SUV

The driver stopped and abandoned the vehicle after being pursued for aggressive driving

Today, just before 10 a.m. an Arizona State trooper attempted to stop a Toyota 4-Runner for aggressive driving on eastbound Interstate 10 at Ray Road in Phoenix. The Toyota pulled off the freeway and stopped in the area of Ray Road and 54th Street. The driver, described as a hispanic male, fled from the vehicle.

Troopers, along with the assistance of Chandler and Phoenix Police Departments, searched the area but were unable to find and apprehend the driver. Troopers did, however, find 490 pounds of marijuana inside the Toyota.

This investigation remains ongoing.
