Nogales Bee Attack Injures 14

At about 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, a bee attack on Hohokam Drive near Doe Street stopped traffic while Nogales Police, fire, and good Samaritans stopped to help a number of people that were stung, according to the Nogales Police Department.

Cpl. Robert Fierros of the Nogales Police Department described the scene as “chaotic,” according to the Nogales International. A total of 14 people were attacked, including several children, reported the International.

Fierros told the International that the swarm first attacked a teenage male bicyclist on Hohokam. “A couple and their three young children driving by stopped to help, only to be overrun by the bees themselves. That scene replayed itself several times as additional passersby tried to help and were then attacked, Fierros told the International.
