That information escalated into a male beating a woman with a hammer; then into that male being shot by a third person. Upon arrival, Glendale Police Officers located 26-year old Andre Cannon, a resident of Los Angeles, CA, who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was treated on-scene and transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The initial investigation has found that Andre Cannon and his 23-year old girlfriend were in a verbal argument while walking down the street. At some point, Cannon removed a hammer from a nearby construction vehicle and began chasing his girlfriend with it. It is alleged that he then began to strike her with the hammer when the third subject intervened, shooting Cannon once.
