Governor Awards Glendale Police Highway Safety Grants

In an effort to save more lives and reduce the number of injuries related to vehicular collisions on Arizona’s roadways, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is partnering with the Glendale Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to increase traffic safety.

The Glendale Police Department has been awarded three grants that it will use to enforce traffic safety through the end of September 2016. In some cases there are specific enforcement periods and those will be announced via more specific press releases as they near. The grants awarded and their dollar amounts are listed below:

• Occupant Protection – $30,000
• DUI/Impaired Driving Enforcement – $60,000
• Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) – $25,000
