McSally Defends A-10, Post Captured In USAF Propaganda
On Tuesday, McSally spoke of increased use of A-10s in attacks on ISIS targets following the Paris attacks. U.S. officials recently reported that A-10s deployed to Incirlik Air Force Base in Turkey carried out attacks against ISIS oil-tanker trucks in Syria.
The A-10s are stationed in two separate locations in CENTCOM, Turkey and Kuwait. They are so valuable, in fact, that the CENTCOM Commander wanted them spread across the entire battle area.
Even in the of growing U.S public push to crush ISIL, the USAF is dedicated to crushing the planes doing the heavy lifting.
According to the USAF press release, Airmen from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, participated in advanced training on maintenance procedures for the F-35 Lightning II Nov. 3 at Luke Air Force Base. Those Airmen “are mostly experienced maintainers who have worked previously on legacy jets, such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Falcon.”
So not only is the USAF pulling A-10 personnel away for training on the F-35, they are pulling personnel away from two of the very platforms that are fighting ISIL. The USAF will not say they were pulling A-10 maintainers but yet they are and it is a badly kept secret.

Promoted “Treason” General Tours A-10 Base
In a scene reminiscent of Darth Vader visiting an X-Wing unit, Maj. Gen. James Post dropped into Osan Air Base in Korea recently for some gripping, grinning, and veiled A-10 loathing.
Post earned notoriety earlier this year after telling a crowd of subordinate officers that sharing with Congress an opinion about the A-10 inconsistent with the Air Force’s desire to send it to the boneyard was treasonous. An Inspector General inquiry found him in violation of federal law.
In response, the Air Force issued a press release claiming Post had been reprimanded and relieved of his position as Vice Commander of Air Combat Command. Many speculated his career was effectively over. The truth is that Post was slapped on the wrist and given a consequential position at the Pentagon where he oversees all Air Force operations.
