On November 17, 2015, the Oro Valley Police Department, along with the Golder Ranch Fire District, responded to the 12,000 block of Mesquite Crest Way in reference to an unresponsive 10-month old baby in the care of babysitter Jennifer Taylor, age 34.
The child was transported to Banner University Medical Center where emergency surgery was performed due to a head trauma.
OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit, Department of Child Services and the Office of Child Welfare Investigations conducted a joint investigation and determined the child was in care of the Taylor when injured.
There was evidence that Taylor intentionally caused the injuries to the child. Taylor was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention center for one count of child abuse.
The investigation is on-going.
