Prescott Valley Police Respond to Home Depot Bomb Threat

The Prescott Valley Police Department as well as the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office with the Arizona Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad Technicians continue to investigate this incident. After a comprehensive store wide check the Arizona Department of Public Safety Bomb Technician Teams gave the safe signal for the Home Depot store scene, stating that it was safe to enter the immediate area and continue the police investigation. The device that bomb squad dealt with was rendered safe and had the appearance of a real explosive device.

At this time we are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in regards to the following incident:

Monday, November 30, 2015, about 0820 hours in the morning, Prescott Valley Home Depot reported receiving a bomb threat. The store manager reported that a male subject came into the store and made a bomb threat before exiting the store. The store manager immediately notified the Prescott Valley Police Department who quickly took evacuation measures of Home Depot and the surrounding businesses. The Arizona Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad was summoned and is responding to the scene to assist. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and Prescott Valley Public Works Department are assisting with road closures while this incident is being investigated.

Adjacent roadways to Home Depot were temporarily closed while the incident was being investigated:

1. Sundog Ranch Road from State Route 69.
2. Market Street at Sun Dog Ranch Road is closed.
3. All entrances to Home Depot or the Crossings in the Home Depot shopping center are temporarily closed.

He is described as a white male possibly 50-60 years of age, about 5’-10” to 5’-11”, about 225 pounds, with blondish collar length hair, wearing rose colored glasses, a tan Carhart jacket, blue jeans, light blue button-up shirt.
