Since 2014, the United States has been bombing ISIS but to no avail. Why? Our pilots are prevented from striking ISIS targets due to an Obama administration policy to prevent civilian deaths and collateral damage.
In the 1999 Serbia action, allies flew 138 sorties daily. Today, the United States flies six to twelve sorties a day. ISIS laughs at the United States and President Obama as it expands its territory to 50,000 square miles.
Obama’s lack of strategy in fighting ISIS is as clear as his understanding of ISIS itself: he admitted he had no strategy on ISIS. On the day before the Paris attacks by Islamic Radical terrorists, President Obama declared ISIS contained. Obama was right: ISIS was contained to Syria, Iraq, France and Belgium. Obama’s definition is one of expanding containment. Senator Feinstein, D-CA, correctly countered: “I read the intelligence faithfully. ISIL is not contained. ISIL is expanding.”
This is the same President Obama who declared that “if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant.” Eight months later, the White House admitted that ISIS was no longer a JV team: too little too late.
Barack Obama’s reckless abandonment of Iraq amidst his failure to leave a residual force in place led directly to the rise of ISIS. Obama created the vacuum; ISIS filled it.
Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta admitted President Obama damaged American credibility by drawing his red line against Syria’s use of chemical weapons, then failing to back it up when Syria crossed the line. President Obama’s failure to act presidential sent a strong message to the Syrians and ISIS that Obama was a weak, feckless president.
Former CIA Chief Mike Morrell, commenting on President Obama’s lack of ISIS strategy, said “I think it’s now crystal clear to us that our strategy, our policy vis-à-vis ISIS is not working and it is time to look at something else.” Meanwhile, ISIS laughs at an incompetent President Obama and recruits even more terrorists.
President Obama is delusional. He refuses to accept reality. He blames Gitmo for ISIS recruiting but neither Gitmo nor ISIS existed prior to 9/11. When that excuse doesn’t gain traction, Obama blames social media. When that excuse does gain traction, Obama blames Republicans. Yet it is Obama’s own rhetoric and lack of actions based on sound strategy that is ISIS’ best recruiting tool.
Under the Obama administration, 200,000 Syrians have been killed. President Obama did nothing. President Assad’s forces brutally murdered over 100 women and children. President Obama did nothing. ISIS murders 400 people in the city of Palmra, mostly women and children. President Obama did nothing. President Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. President Obama did nothing. ISIS beheaded two American journalists. President Obama did nothing. While ISIS hunted down Christians for slavery and slaughter, President Obama did nothing.
ISIS uses President Obama’s inaction as a recruiting tool.
It is not surprising then to view President Obama as bitter, clinging to Islam, his childhood religion, demonstrating antipathy toward people who are not like him (Syrian Christians and conservative Americans) as a way to explain his frustrations.
No wonder ISIS loves Obama.
