Scottsdale Suspects Arrested In Black Friday Robbery

They have been identified as Edward L. Tongen age 26 and Michel Kelly age 21.

On Friday November 27th at just after 5:30pm two male subjects entered a North Scottsdale hair Salon. As one of the males acted as a lookout, the second subject produced a knife and demanded cash from a front desk employee. After obtaining the money the two ran from the store where they made their way to a car.

Witnesses observed the two leave the area and provided responding officers with a vehicle description. Officers located the car and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield and attempted to flee the area. In the attempted to get away, the vehicle crashed into a wall in the 7300 block of E Sunnyside.

Both suspects exited the car and fled on foot. After a short search both subjects were taken into custody. They have been identified as Edward L. Tongen age 26 and Michel Kelly age 21. Both are being held in custody on numerous felony charges to include Armed Robbery.
