Ryan’s Omnibus Is Not A Compromise — It’s Capitulation
It didn’t take long for Paul Ryan to prove his critics right after becoming the newest House Speaker.
The omnibus spending bill that was crafted and passed by Ryan this week sent many conservatives into a rage spiral once its provisions were announced.
Breitbart News ran a front page headline declaring, “Paul Ryan Betrays America.” Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin and other talk radio hosts all issued fiery invective against the Wisconsin congressman for getting deal through the House of Representatives.
It’s not unusual for these figures to go off the rails about the doings of Republican congressional leaders. Talk radio is probably one of the reasons John Boehner gave up the speaker gavel thanks to the relentless scorn he received from the base.
