On Monday, Michele Butler, age 54, shot an killed her domestic partner of 15 years, Kimberly Shelton, age 53, in 34000 block of Spirit Lane in Red Rock.
According to Sheriff Paul Babeu, neighbors called 911 reporting hearing a gun shot at approximately 11:05 a.m. Other callers reported an injured woman in the street.
Neighbors found Shelton on the road in front of her home and rendered aid. She was pronounced deceased.
Neighbors report hearing Butler shout at Shelton, “I got you.”
Butler in now in custody.
