Florence named Arizona’s Safest

Safewise.com has identified Arizona top safest communities. According to their study, the crime rate in Arizona decreased by nearly nine percent, and murders and burglaries went down by 10 percent each.

According to the most recent FBI Crime Report, the chance of being a crime victim in one of Arizona’s safest cities was 40 percent less than the national average. Furthermore, one-quarter of the state’s safest cities reported less than 10 total violent crimes and four cited no occurrence of murder, rape, or robbery whatsoever.

To identify the 20 safest cities in Arizona, Safewise reviewed the most recent FBI Crime Report statistics from 2014, along with population data. They eliminated all cities with fewer than 2,000 residents as well as any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI.

From there, Safewise evaluated the remaining cities, and narrowed it down based on the number of reported violent crimes (aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery) and property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft) in each city. To further level the playing field, they calculated the likelihood of these crimes occurring out of 1,000 people in each city.
