Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fatal accident late Saturday, February 20, morning by the Topock Marina.
Investigators determined that James Michael Cocchiarella, 75, of St Paul, MN, left the roadway and ran his vehicle into the marsh. Passengers inside the vehicle were not injured. Passengers advised that when Cocchiarella left the road, they tried to get his attention but he didn’t respond.
Medical responded but they were unable to revive Cocchiarella. The Medical Examiner responded and determined that Cocchiarella died of natural causes.
