Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican national for an alleged attempt to smuggle more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine, worth in excess of $90,000, through the Port of Nogales Feb. 24.
Officers at the Dennis DeConcini crossing referred a 52-year-old legal permanent resident alien living in Nogales, Arizona, for further inspection of her Ford SUV. During the search, officers located multiple meth packages in the back of the vehicle.
After seizing the vehicle and drugs, officers turned the subject over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
