Cochise County Unveils Asset Inventory Website

Late last year Cochise County partnered with Dr. Robert Carreira of Cochise College leading the transparency movement to transform the County asset inventory from its old Excel spreadsheet format to a new, mobile friendly website, bringing it together with material previously published on the economic development page of the County website.

The County says it is a “one stop source for economic and census information, that will come in handy for grant writers, educators, planners and economic developers.”

The asset inventory contains socioeconomic profiles with the most recent info on population and demographics; income; education; employment and unemployment; housing markets; restaurant and lodging listings; available commercial properties and homes for sale; links to local governments, planning & development departments, and development codes; maps and commuting distances; K-12 and higher education opportunities; local area hospitals and clinics; transportation info including airports, distances to major metro areas, and express shipping providers; utilities and telecommunications providers; natural resources and renewable energy programs and incentives; financial services; taxes and the regulatory environment.

As before, there’s a page for every city, town, and unincorporated area of Cochise County from Sierra Vista to San Simon. The new Cochise County Economic Development website also has links to area economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, visitor centers, workforce training, small business development, economic research, and there’s also information on economic development incentives, opportunities, and quality of life.
